Veg scraps, leftovers, shells, eggshells, coffee grounds — drained of water, no vinyl bags. Komoro is a national showcase: food waste becomes fertilizer. Out Mon + Thu.

Paper scraps, leather, shoes, plants, dirty plastics, ALL plastic products (toys, toothbrushes, hangers — anything without the プラ mark), foil, ash (wetted+wrapped). Everything ≤50 cm. Out Tue.
Plastic packagingGREEN designated bag · FREE
ONLY items with the プラ mark: shopping bags, trays, bubble wrap, PET caps & labels — rinsed & dried, no double-bagging. Out Fri.
Landfill wasteBLUE designated bag · ¥25 / ¥15
Glass, ceramics, metal, knives (wrap in newspaper + write 刃物), umbrellas, bulbs. Monthly Wed.

🏘 The ZuCity house plan

  • One station, learned once. Each house uses its block's 集積所 (collection station). They're neighborhood-membership infrastructure — not public drop points. House manager confirms the spot + any net/crow-cover rule on day one; pin a photo of it in the house chat.
  • Trash Captain rotation. Weekly rotating captain per house: checks this calendar Sun night, reminds the house Mon (kitchen), Tue (red), Fri (green). Two kitchen days a week means food waste never sits more than 3 days — in summer that's the whole game.
  • Bag stock = house supply. Buy designated bags (赤・青・紙・緑) at supermarkets / drugstores / home centers in Komoro (Tsuruya Mikage, Cainz Komoro, etc.). They're how disposal is paid for — no bag, no collection. Keep one spare roll of each.
  • Event surge rule (Nakamandem nights). Cans → blue container, bottles color-sorted, PET to the net, everything rinsed BEFORE the party ends. Nothing goes to a konbini or the station bins at Komoro Station — dumping there is 絶対禁止 and can cost a community its venue.
  • Oversized (粗大ごみ) = CleanHill self-haul. Broken chairs, tents, heaters: CleanHill Komoro (菱平367-1), weekdays 9–12 / 13–16, 3rd Sun 9:00–11:30, ID + intake form + cash, ¥100/10 kg. Phone 0267-26-0022.
  • Batteries & rechargeables never go in bags (truck fires). Dry cells → hazardous collection (2×/yr) or ward containers; lithium/mobile batteries → store take-back (JBRC).
  • Leave No Trace is the same ethic. Japan's waste culture and burner LNT agree: sort it, carry it, respect the neighborhood that processes it. 飛ぶ鳥跡を濁さず.
